Crossing a solid or double solid centre line is two questions, and only one of them a camera can answer. What is measured here is where another vehicle was sideways, in metres, frame by frame — the same box that gives its distance gives its offset, so the lens cancels out and no calibration is involved. Oncoming traffic sits three to four metres to the left, one lane over; a card is a vehicle that did not. What the camera cannot tell you is whose movement caused it, or what the paint said. Both are asked on every card. A lane change over a broken line is no offence at all, and that answer is worth recording too.
